What is the difference between a laboratory bowl and a crucible?

A laboratory bowl is mainly used for evaporation, crystallisation, drying, and general sample preparation.

A crucible is specifically designed for high-temperature applications such as ashing, ignition, and material analysis.

Quartz and porcelain crucibles are commonly used for high-temperature laboratory work. These materials offer excellent thermal resistance and are suitable for demanding analytical and research applications.
