For the digestion of small sample volumes up to 0.5g in microwave ovens. Made of isostatically pressed, high-grade PTFE (TFM). The chemical resistance and usual PTFE properties remain unchanged. TFM is a modified PTFE by Hoechst and contains thermoplastic elements. This gives rise to a homogeneous, non-porous surface. Contaminating residues from earlier digestions are therefore avoided. Resists pressure deformation (to max. 25 bar) and temperature (max. 160 °C). An accessory burst-proof, sealing membrane prevents loss of volatile compounds and provides safety against overpressure. Optional digestion vessels with interchangeable inserts (internal liners) enable precise weighing-in (in most cases the complete vessels would be too heavy for balances). In addition, different digestion processes can be carried out in only one basic vessel by using several inserts.

Muffle Furnace/Chamber Furnace
A muffle furnace is a brilliant invention! It allows materials that require heat treatment to be safely and cleanly separated from the fuel. This is particularly important to avoid contamination from ash, gas vapors, or soot. With the introduction of electric heating elements, these side effects have been largely reduced, so that the heating elements in modern laboratory furnaces can be located directly in the heating chamber.
In addition, there are still some applications where separating heating elements from the furnace chamber is necessary. Examples include ashing in ashing furnaces or creating controlled atmospheres in vacuum furnaces. Muffle furnaces are available in various sizes as tabletop and floor-standing units. They reach temperatures up to 1800 °C (vacuum furnaces up to 3000 °C).
