Conductivity meter
Conductivity measurement (conductometry) is multifaceted and is a standard application, especially in the industrial and analytical fields. Operational and purity controls of water, rinse water, waste water treatments and titrations are just a few examples. Conductivity measurement uses the flow of electrons in an electric current. The amount of charge carriers (ions) is a measure of the total concentration of dissolved ions. The electrodes of handheld or stationary benchtop instruments are calibrated using standard solutions prior to measurement. Measuring instruments can convert the conductivity into the measurands TDS or salinity using a factor.
