Heidolph Laboratory Equipment: Precision Tools for Research and Quality Control

Heidolph Rotational Evaporators: Optimizing Sample Preparation with Hei-VAP Series

Heidolph’s Hei-VAP line of rotational evaporators is engineered for high-efficiency solvent evaporation under reduced pressure. Designed for both routine and complex evaporation processes, these systems combine intuitive operation with advanced safety features and excellent thermal performance.

- Models such as the Hei-VAP Core with motor lift and the Hei-VAP Ultimate Control with hand lift offer flexibility across research disciplines.
- Vacuum control and programmable temperature profiles enable precise regulation of process parameters.
- Integrated safety mechanisms, including dry-run protection and automatic lift-out in case of power failure, ensure uninterrupted operation and sample integrity.

Particularly in pharmaceutical R&D and chemical synthesis workflows, the Hei-VAP series improves throughput and reproducibility, making it a reliable choice for labs demanding consistent results.

Magnet Stirrers with Heating: Accurate Mixing with Hei-PLATE Series

Heidolph’s Hei-PLATE magnetic stirrers with heating capabilities are designed for precise temperature-controlled stirring applications.

- The Hei-PLATE Sensor Basic and Sensor Advanced packages combine PID temperature regulation with external temperature sensor feedback, maintaining fluid temperatures within ±1 °C.
- The Mix’n’Heat models, such as the Core and Ultimate Sensor Advanced, support fast heat-up times and robust stirring for volumes up to 20 L.
- Coated ceramic tops ensure chemical resistance and allow for easy cleaning in demanding environments.

These devices are ideal for reaction setups, media preparation, or titration protocols, especially where thermal stability and uniform agitation are critical.

Overhead Stirrers: Hei-TORQUE Series for High-Viscosity Applications

The Hei-TORQUE range offers reliable overhead stirring across viscosities and batch sizes, supporting process scale-up and reproducibility.

- The Hei-TORQUE Core is ideal for medium-viscosity fluids and day-to-day laboratory mixing tasks.
- For intensive applications, the Hei-TORQUE Expert 400 and Ultimate 200 models deliver up to 400 Ncm torque and support programmable ramping and speed profiles.
- All models integrate overload protection, quick chuck locking systems, and digital feedback for precise RPM monitoring.

Use cases include emulsification, dispersion, and pilot-scale formulation development in materials science and biopharmaceutical processing.

Platform Shakers: Reliable Sample Homogenization

Heidolph’s platform shakers provide efficient, reproducible sample mixing for cell culture, staining, or extraction procedures.

- Programmable timers, orbital and reciprocating motion profiles, and variable speed controls make them highly adaptable.
- Models are available with stackable platforms, increasing throughput in limited bench space.

High mechanical stability minimizes vibration transmission, supporting consistent results in sensitive workflows.

Peristaltic Pumps and Accessories: Fluid Handling with Hei-FLOW Series

Heidolph’s Hei-FLOW peristaltic pumps offer modular, high-precision fluid transport solutions for both single- and multichannel applications.

- The Core 120 and Ultimate 600 models support flow rates from 0.38 mL/min to 4,000 mL/min.
- Interchangeable pump heads—including SP quick, SP standard, and SP vario—allow rapid switching between dosing regimes.
- Digital interfaces and closed-loop feedback ensure consistent flow control, even under varying back pressure.

These systems are optimal for continuous media delivery, reagent dosing, and bioprocessing applications that demand sterility and accuracy.

Heating Plates for Controlled Temperature Applications

Heidolph’s standalone heating plates deliver precise thermal regulation for general-purpose laboratory heating.

- Integrated thermal sensors, programmable temperature limits, and chemical-resistant surfaces extend operational lifespan.
- They are frequently used for evaporation tasks, crystallization experiments, and hot plate-based chemical reactions.

All devices comply with laboratory safety directives, including independent over-temperature protection.

Heating bath liquid, BUDDE
Use:BUDDE heating bath liquid can be used continuously as a heating medium up to approx. 170 °C. Higher temperatures (below flash point) are possible, but will result in rapid darkening. The low pour point allows the bath liquid also to be used as a cooling medium. Mixtures with 10 % to 30 % water achieve best results. The crucial advantages of BUDDE heating bath liquid compared tothe oils or other organic liquid mainly used are:accidental spillage of water into the bath does not lead to dangerous spitting at temperatures over 100 °C, as the water dissolves in the heating bath liquid and subsequently evaporates safelyBUDDE heating bath liquid can easily be rinsed away with water which eases cleaning of laboratory equipment, e.g. distillation flasks, and also bench or floor if the bath liquid is accidentally spilled.BUDDE heating bath liquid does not foam when mixed with water.Viscosity on addition of water:BUDDE heating bath liquid is quite viscous at ambient or low temperatures, and therefore sometimes difficult to dispense. The addition of 10-20 % water reduces the viscosity and enables easier handling. If the mixture is then heated to 100 °C, the water evaporates without boiling. Further heating is only shortly delayed by this. Before next heating, water can be added again.Water solubility: BUDDE heating bath liquid can be mixed with water in any ratio. The hardness of the water has no effect on the bath liquid.
